Description

Betnovate Ointment contains betamethasone valerate, a strong corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, and itching associated with certain skin conditions. The ointment form is more suitable for dry, scaly, or thickened skin as it provides a more occlusive barrier, locking in moisture and allowing the skin to absorb the active ingredient effectively. Betnovate is typically prescribed for short-term use to control flare-ups, rather than for ongoing maintenance.

How Does Betnovate Ointment Work?

When the body gets exposed to an allergen or irritation, it reacts by producing chemicals. The chemical messengers (prostaglandins) widen blood vessels and cause skin inflammation, which results in sore skin and eczema breakouts. Betnovate has anti-inflammatory properties. It works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation of the skin. It is a safe and effective treatment that reduces the scaly, itchy patches that may develop on the elbows, knees, scalp, and other body parts
