How Does Betnovate Ointment Work?

When the body gets exposed to an allergen or irritation, it reacts by producing chemicals. The chemical messengers (prostaglandins) widen blood vessels and cause skin inflammation, which results in sore skin and eczema breakouts. Betnovate has anti-inflammatory properties. It works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation of the skin.   • Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor.

Ingredients

Betamethasone 0.1% (as valerate), cetomacrogol 1000, chlorocresol, cetostearyl alcohol, soft white paraffin, liquid paraffin, sodium acid phosphate, phosphoric acid, sodium hydroxide, and purified water.

Warnings

Do not apply Betnovate Ointment on the scalp, face, mouth, or ears. The ointment is unsuitable for you if you have the below conditions:

  • Are allergic to steroid medicines.
  • Have a large area of affected skin.
  • Have psoriasis.
  • Have a chronic leg ulcer.
  • Are pregnant.

  • Betnovate Ointment is a strong topical steroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It helps reduce redness, swelling, and itching.
